Paddlesport for d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth
All professional paddlesport instruction and equipment provided. Interpreter provided for these sessions. Paddlers, family, and friends are able to watch from the balcony. Please only book for those who are doing the activity.
ION Youth Summer Wellbeing Initiative
We’re excited to launch our 2026 Summer Youth Health & Wellbeing Initiative. Following the success of previous years, the programme offers free sessions for young people throughout the summer holidays. Activities include strength and conditioning training, team sports, physical activity and wellbeing support.
The A-Mazing Summer
We’re celebrating 40 years of discovery at Techniquest, and we’re kicking off the birthday festivities on Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 July with some amazing new exhibits! Be the first to enjoy our exciting additions headlined by the return of mind-boggling fan favourites, the Mirror Maze and Head on a Plate. And there are more add-on activities in the Lab and the Planetarium to make your day out even more AMAZING!
Brick Draig
A brand-new brick-built family adventure has arrived at The Red Dragon Centre this summer. Running until 31 August, the free experience is the first chance for visitors to meet the 12 brick-built dragon models, making their public debut. Visitors can then discover dragon egg floor markers throughout the Centre, using the clues on each egg to help match the dragons to their elemental realms.
Family Fun Park
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of funfair rides and attractions throughout the school summer holidays. Thrill seekers can take on favourites including the Dodgems, Fun House, Runaway Train, Water Walkers and more, while younger children will find plenty of family friendly rides designed for a gentler pace. Alongside the rides, there will be a programme of free entertainment featuring magic shows, princess sing-a-longs, character meet and greets and other family activities throughout the event.

Helios
Meet Helios. An amazing seven‑metre‑wide artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram that brings the Sun closer than ever before, in a way that’s safe and spectacular. Using real solar imagery from NASA and scientists, this glowing sculpture lets you look closely at the Sun’s surface and spot fascinating details like sunspots and solar flares. With gently changing light and an immersive soundscape, Helios is a calm, inspiring space where families can pause, look up and wonder at the star that gives us light, warmth and life.
Youth Multi Activity Week
Get your young ones moving with our healthy week of activities. Our multi-activity week offers the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to water sports, or allow them to improve their skills in a fun team environment. Packing a bundle of courses for your kids to try, the Youth Multi Activity Week includes White Water Rafting, Sit on Top Kayaking, Canoeing, White Water Hotdogging, Tubing, Indoor Wave and Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
